What Is A Primary Email Address?

You can link up to 7 email addresses with your PayPal account, all of which can receive payments. However, only 1 of those can be your primary email address. Your primary email address is where you will receive notifications from PayPal. It is also the email address that is given to a seller when you make a purchase with PayPal.

When you buy an e-gift card from us, we send your gift card to your primary email address. If that email address is outdated or you no longer have access to it, you will have to contact our support team for assistance.

So, to prevent that inconvenience, let’s take a look at how to update your primary email address. The process will vary depending on the medium and type of PayPal account you have.
